Tailored Tutors Private Tutoring
Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1 Tailored Tutors Private Tutoring (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an online platform connecting students (“Tutees”) with independent tutors (“Tutors”). We act as an introducer only and do not provide private tutoring services ourselves.

1.2 By using our platform, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

1.3 We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

2. Student & Parent / Guardian Responsibilities

2.1 Students and parents / guardians agree that:

  • 2.1.1 They will not request for tutors to complete coursework or engage in academic misconduct of any kind.
  • 2.1.2 Reviewing Tutors is strongly encouraged—an invitation to review a tutor is sent to the student after a minimum of two sessions have been completed.

2.2 Students must be at least 18 years old to create their own account. For students under 18, a parent or guardian must create the account on their behalf. The parent or guardian will be responsible for all agreements made with Tutors and all communications related to tutoring sessions. It is the responsibility of that parent/guardian to check the credentials of the Tutor.

2.3 A Tutee, or where relevant their parent/guardian, is responsible for verifying the credentials, expertise, references, DBS checks, and qualifications of any Tutor with whom they enter into or propose to enter into a contract. Tailored Tutors Private Tutoring does not offer any guarantee that any information provided on the platform is accurate and correct.

3. Payments, Cancellations & Refunds

3.1 Payments:

  • 3.1.1 Payments are processed via Stripe Connect within our platform.
  • 3.1.2 A portion of each payment goes directly to the tutor, and a portion goes to Tailored Tutors Private Tutoring.

3.2 Cancellations:

  • 3.2.1 More than 24 hours before lesson: free cancellation.
  • 3.2.2 Less than 24 hours before lesson: full charge applies.

3.3 Refunds:

  • 3.3.1 If a tutor fails to attend, the student may request a refund.
  • 3.3.2 If the lesson is deemed inadequate, students must first try resolving the issue with the tutor before escalating to us. Any concerns must be reported within 48 hours of the lesson’s scheduled end time to be considered for resolution.
  • 3.3.3 Tailored Tutors Private Tutoring makes the final decision on refund disputes. Refund decisions will be based on factors including, but not limited to, evidence of the tutor’s attendance, quality of the lesson as reported by both parties, prior history of disputes, and any relevant lesson recordings.

4. Dispute Resolution

  • 4.1 Disputes should first be resolved directly between the student and the tutor.
  • 4.2 If unresolved, the issue can be raised to Tailored Tutors Private Tutoring by emailing hello@tailoredtutors.co.uk.
