How does TT make the 2025 A Level Predicted Papers?

We at Tailored Tutors have done the most extensive analysis of the past paper record—ever. This has allowed us to build a quantitative data set that tells us what to expect on this year’s exam (in terms of the frequency that each topic and skill typically comes up), and helps us build the best A Level Predicted Papers each year.

Our exam expert tutors have also reviewed last year’s real papers. Years of exam tutoring experience enables them to identify patterns in question types, topics and skills which are then used to select the practice questions that are most likely to appear on your exams.

We have selected past paper questions from your exam board wherever possible, and filled the gaps with questions outside of your exam board which have been triple checked for a 100% content & skill match to ensure they’re in line with what you need to know for your exam board.

Our A Level Predicted Papers match the same exam format as your real exams—so practicing with them is just like practicing a real exam.

How accurate are the 2025 A Level Predicted Papers?

Tailored Tutors A Level Predicted Papers are the best in the business. In past years, some questions and answers included in our predictions were exact matches to the questions in the real exam!

Analysis of our 2024 predictions shows that more than 60% of the marks on the real exam were covered by the Tailored Tutors 2024 Predicted Papers (across all subjects, exams boards and papers).

However, it’s important to remember, our Predicted Papers are predictions (not certainties)—they cannot ever be 100% accurate. For this reason, we recommend you revise beyond the topics and questions that are included in our 2025 A Level Predicted Papers.

How should I use the 2025 A Level Predicted Papers?

We recommend you complete our A Level Predicted Papers following the TT Revision Method™.

For best results, make sure you understand all the questions and answers in the 2025 Predicted Papers, and do extensive Action Hours on the topics, skills and question types that you drop the most marks on from each paper attempt.

Is it possible to go up 2 or more grades using Tailored Tutors?

How many 2025 A Level Predicted Papers are there?

There are 6 A Level Predicted Papers for Biology and Chemistry each (there are no Predicted Papers for Maths).

The A Level Predicted Papers are split into Set A and Set B in each subject.

Set A consists of Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3, and Set B also consists of Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3—totalling 6 Predicted Papers per subject, to ensure you have every base covered.

If a topic came up on last year’s exams, does that make it less likely to come up on this year’s papers?

Yes and no!

Some topics are very common and it’s quite normal for them to repeat year after year.

Other topics are much less common—so if they came up on last year’s papers, then it’s much less likely for them to repeat this year.

There are also different ways that a topic can be assessed. Picking the topic is only one part of the battle when it comes to the challenges of predicting the exam.

This highlights the value of having questions selected by our exam expert tutors—they know how to use past year’s papers to select questions for this year’s predictions based on topic frequency, and they also understand how to ensure you’re practicing the most likely format of assessment for a given topic too.

What do you think the grade boundaries for an A will be this year?

The grade boundaries are controlled by Ofqual so that a fixed proportion of students get each grade each year. The boundaries are determined by the relative performance of all the students who sat the given exam—not by a fixed number of marks achieved.

Grade boundaries are set based on statistical data, expert review, and national percentiles. This ensures that each year’s results are fair and consistent, regardless of how hard or easy the exam was.

It is not simply a case of “60% of marks achieved = an A”. What if 80% of students got 60% or more of the marks? That would mean 80% of students would receive an A—which Ofqual does not allow.

Students who get an A or A* will be in the top bracket of exam performance (according to the national ranking order), regardless of how many marks they actually achieved.

Grade boundaries are set after exams are marked to reflect the difficulty of the paper, the national performance, and prior attainment (e.g. how this cohort performed at GCSE).

We cannot know ahead of time what the grade boundaries will be because no one has sat the exam yet, so, we can’t know how easy or difficult the exam actually is, relatively speaking (and therefore, we don’t know what threshold of performance will equate to an A* or A, etc.).

During COVID the proportion of A’s and A*’s increased by about 45% because teachers awarded final grades (instead of grades being determined by student’s exam performance, with grade boundaries controlled by Ofqual). Since then, Ofqual have been tapering the grade boundaries back to the pre-COVID levels over a number of years (rather than reverting sharply back to pre-COVID boundaries immediately).

This year, they are no longer tapering the grade boundaries—so we can expect to see similar numbers of A’s and A*s this year as we did in 2024.

Are there Predicted Papers for Maths?

No, we do not offer Predicted Papers for Maths.

Are there AS Predicted Papers as well as A Level Predicted Papers?

No, we have not built Predicted Papers for the AS exams.

If you are a Year 12 student revising for the real AS exam or for end of year mock exams, we advise you to follow the TT Revision Method™ with the regular AS past papers inside the course.
